World Tai Chi Day 2026

Allen, TX Saturday, April 25, 2026 10:00AM-11:30AM

We celebrated World Tai Chi Day on April 25th, 2026 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM with 30 minutes to mingle and discuss. This was a moment for our community to come together and celebrate the moving meditation of Tai Chi and Qigong.

Tai Chi players from our school partnered with Uncle Charles Tai Chi for a demonstration spanning multiple Tai Chi forms and with several mindful Qigong exercises. This is an event for everyone, and everyone is welcome! There are easy exercises anyone can do as long as they can stand, a beginner’s form almost anyone can join in with, and harder forms including the 24 move form and the 64 move form (while each form has a number of moves, each “move” is a start and an end with a different process between).

If you missed out on this year’s World Tai Chi Day, you can check out the offerings (Tai Chi and Qigong) at the Joe Farmer Recreation Center, Don Rodenbaugh Aquatic Center (in the upstairs Activity Room), or the Allen Senior Center in Allen, TX if you’re local, or many local community centers for Tai Chi or Qigong classes. There are many forms which run the gamut from slow to fast, passive to active, soft to hard, etc. Tai Chi can help foster martial arts roots or slow you down to think as you move. Qigong helps you find balance and stretches you. What do you want from the process?

Check out our day in Allen!
